Michael Lohan says he has to take control of LiLo's affairs because she and her younger sister, Ali, are spinning out of control.
Hotel di Semarang - The dad, who has spent time in prison and rehab himself, said he was only trying to prevent Lindsay from going the way of other dope-addled showbiz legends.
"Michael is not going to stand idly by as his daughter becomes another Hollywood statistic," Lisa Bloom, his lawyer, said in a statement released to TMZ.com.
Lindsay's mother, Dina, wasted no time in lashing back against her ex-hubby, who she branded "dangerous," "disgusting" and "an absolute liar."
Mama Lohan vowed to get a restraining order to keep him away from both Lindsay and Ali.
"It will happen immediately. My children are petrified of him," Dina Lohan, who has been feuding with her ex for years, told UsMagazine.com. "He has been in and out of jail for 10 years. This guy has to be stopped."
The Lohan women are livid after Michael sent Los Angeles County sheriffs to Lindsay's home last week to check on her younger sister.
Cops found no signs of abuse.
Michael Lohan jabbed back as he flew home from Los Angeles.
"If Dina wants to persist with the lies, denials and false accusations, I will release every one of the over 100 tapes I have of her," he told TMZ.
The dad approvingly spoke of Spears' parents' moves to take over the affairs of their troubled daughter as she battled emotional and substance abuse issues.
"Michael is prepared to pursue other legal options towards his one and only goal - to protect his daughter," Bloom said.
